Job Description

The elementary reading teacher position involves UPK-5 reading development designed to provide a systematic school-wide approach to literacy instruction. The goal of this position is to assure high-level literacy achievement for every child throughout the district. This will best be accomplished by a well-defined problem-solving process grounded in data analysis and professional learning communities. 

 

Job Qualifications

• Current elementary teaching license
• Exemplary literacy background
• Reading recovery and/or leveled literacy intervention training (preferred) 
• Master's degree preferred
• Demonstrated leadership skills in professional practice
• Demonstrated skills in listening, communicating and collaborating
• Life-long learner with knowledge of current best practices that improve student learning
• Strong knowledge in culturally responsive teaching
