Job Description

• Answers telephones, responds to inquiries, directs and/or transfers the caller to the appropriate person, and takes and relays messages accurately.
• Monitors and communicates effectively using two-way radios.
• Maintains confidentiality while handling sensitive information related to school closures and/or student placements.
• Assists with the filing and maintenance of transportation and personnel records.
• Performs other related duties, including operating a school bus, as may be required or assigned by the administration.
• Is responsible for duties as per district’s Bus Driver job description.

Job Qualifications

• Completion of a four-year high school program or equivalent.
• Must hold or be eligible for a New York State CDL Class B driver’s license with a “P” endorsement, have a respectable driving record, and meet all 19-A requirements.
• Ability to communicate specifically with bus drivers using two-way radios regarding routes, emergencies, and student issues.
• Ability to communicate professionally with parents, community members, and staff.
• Knowledge or ability to learn the streets and roads within District boundaries and trip destinations.
• Ability to interact with co-workers positively.
• Ability to operate various office machines including copiers, computers, etc.
• Willingness to work closely, cooperatively, and efficiently with drivers, supervisors, and administrators.
• Demonstrates punctuality and has consistent, reliable attendance.
