Red Creek Central School District is seeking a full-time Technology Teacher for the Middle and High School. This position comes with a  probationary period pending tenure.

Red Creek Central School District is seeking a certified 7-12 English Language Arts teacher for our Middle School.

Director of Student Services

Job Description:

The Director of Student Services is a creative, dynamic, and thoughtful leader who works to fulfill the mission and vision of the Red Creek Central School District. The Director of Student Services will be responsible for supporting the facilitation of an inclusive model for student services that is based upon best practices, the district’s philosophy, and the needs of all students. The Director of Student Services assures compliance with all laws, codes, and regulations related to Student Services; evaluates assigned personnel and collaborates/provides support to administrative and professional staff in meeting identified instructional goals of communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. The Director of Student Services reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools and is considered a 12-month position.

  • Assist with the work focused on inclusive practices, which embraces all learners as valued members of the school community and ensures that children who need additional interventions or intensive support can learn alongside their peers in the least restrictive environment.
  • Ability to communicate with all stakeholders effectively and consistently, including parents, students, staff, and outside agencies.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and completes reports as required by the State Education Department.
  • Oversees the implementation of all student support services; ensure guidelines, procedures, and instruction are in compliance with state and federal laws, rules and regulations, and Board Policy and align with the district’s mission and goals.
  • In cooperation with the building principals, arranges for instruction of homebound or hospitalized students.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and timeline involving requested due process hearings.
  • Ensure that the applicable annual review and re-evaluation meetings are conducted for each student with a disability.
  • Ensure that Board-approved CSE and CPSE recommendations are communicated to applicable teachers, support staff, administration, and parents.
  • Refer, coordinate, and monitor special education programs for students placed out of district.
  • Reviews and updates Board of Education policies, procedures and regulations as required by parts 100 and 200 of the Commissioners Regulations.
  • Adhere to New York school law, State Board of Education rules and regulations, Board of Education policies and regulations, school regulations and procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Provide administrative direction and leadership in the development and operation of appropriate grant programs, including IDEA (Section 611 and 619), as well as training and professional growth opportunities for the support staff.

Personnel Responsibilities:

  • Serves as District CSE chairperson and Committee on Pre-School Special Education (CPSE) Chairperson.
  • Oversee the registration process.
  • Serves as Section 504 Coordinator and Compliance Officer.
  • Supervises the health services programs in the district. Serves as district liaison to school physician(s). Supervises other medical personnel, including nurses employed by the district.
  • Serve as the liaison for home schooled students and out-of-district students.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of all student services staff, including but not limited to, special education teachers, speech/language therapists/pathologists, psychologists, social workers, teaching assistants, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school nurses, home instruction tutors, and special education one to one aides.
  • Serve as the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act Compliance Officer and district homeless liaison.
  • Serve as the Medicaid Compliance Officer.
  • Serve as foster care liaison.
  • Serve as District Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) Coordinator.
  • Serve as the liaison with BOCES for all programs of special education-enrolled District students.
  • Serve as the liaison with all private institutions providing programs for special education-enrolled District students.
  • Oversee program for English Language Learner/Multilingual Learner (ELL/MLL) students.
  • Oversees the special education program.

Data/Fiscal/Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Manage budgets and accounts for Special Education and Student Services.
  • Allocate resources effectively for student support services, including budgeting for mental health programs, character education initiatives, and behavioral support.
  • Prepare reports to the Board of Education regarding the programs utilized by students with disabilities through public schools, BOCES and private schools.
  • Complete all required state and federal reports pertaining to special education, School Safety and Education Climate (SSEC) reporting system, Corporal Punishment reporting, and other reports as designated by the Superintendent of Schools.
  • Complete all applications for state and federal funding in support of special education programs and services.
  • Acts as a liaison with the State Education Department and prepares/submits various reports including STAC forms relative to student enrollment, attendance, state aid, etc.
  • Manages an effective system of data collection, data analysis, and data reporting as required by the State Education Department in the areas of special education, migrants, and English Language Learners.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a continuing member of the Administrative Council.
  • Perform such other duties as requested by the Superintendent of Schools.
  • Serve in an advisory capacity to the Superintendent of Schools in all matters pertaining to the Student Services Department.
  • Performance of the Director of Student Services will be evaluated in accordance with RCAA contract.
